Whether you call it pop-up shop, flash retailing, pop-up store, or temporary retail, they all refer to the same thing. Pop-up shops are literally popping up all over the world and shaking up traditional high street stores., but what exactly are pop-up shops?

Terminology in design, retail and the world of exhibiting, festivals and shows changes rapidly. Over a short span of time Exhibition companies became "Experiential events companies", Festival Organizers became "Interactive event managers...", not to mention my dustman becoming a "Refuse Disposal Technician", Call it what you will, The Exhibition and show world is quite simply about marketing your product effectively and creating, maintaining or developing an on target brand image...


One term and concept which has endured despite rapid changes in both marketing and terminology is that of the “Pop Up”. Be it a Pop-Up Shop, Pop Up Venue, Pop-Up Exhibition, Pop Up Gallery and, well, there are just so many other possibilities. In fact, simply too many to list... The Idea of Pop Up marketing might be a new and novel Idea to some, but not our boys...

Sons of a talented carpenter and exhibition designer, our MD and his brother Dan, who heads up our Exhibition section, ARKITAINER ROSTRUM with decades of experience in AV, started doing Pop-Up events way back in the 80’s... A combination of works from a collective including Fashion, Furniture design, street Art, various painters and workers of canvas, not to mention sculptures, musicians, DJ’s and the obligatory bar, they used to use any available space they could find in East London.
